Comet is extending its research partnership with the Department of Nuclear, Plasma and Radiological Engineering (NPRE) of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, strengthening collaborative efforts in the advanced research of plasma processes.

Since 2022, Comet has been cooperating with Professor David Ruzic and the Center for Plasma-Material Interactions, part of The Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The partnership between Comet and the University of Illinois brings together expertise in plasma diagnostics and power delivery, essential for optimizing plasma behavior in semiconductor manufacturing. By exploring how various parameters affect plasma processes, both parties are following up on their mission to enhance understanding and control of plasma properties, ultimately improving product development and minimizing unwanted effects during microchip production.

Comet's continued support includes providing the U of I with specialized equipment to conduct research under real-world conditions, fostering academic and research excellence.
